Roles of rhamnolipids in pharmaceutics: medicine carrier, medicine booster and activator for the immune system and in other biological processes.

Uses in Medicine:

Based on the properties of rhamnolipids and the mechanism of their action on cells, they can be used in medicine in the following areas :

Treatment of wounds, including chronic ulcer, bedsores, burns (including radioactive burns)
To enhance the effect of antibiotics in the treatment of infections
As oral agents for improving the absorption of various drugs.
Use in re-epithelialization of mucous membranes, especially for the healing of the mucous membranes, in the treatment and prevention of gum diseases such as gingivitis and periodontal regeneration.
Treatment of autoimmune diseases. The treatment will be in organ-specific autoimmune diseases and also in non-organ specific autoimmune diseases psoriasis, lichen planus, lupus erythematosus, ichthyosis, AIDS, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
Treatment of dermatological diseases
The treatment of diseases associated with obesity: the metabolic syndrome, arterial hypertension, type 2 diabetes, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease or obesity-related obesity
Treatment of rhinitis and sinusitis

The mechanism of action of rhamnolipids in pharmaceutical preparations :

Reducing fibrosis in wound healing;
Rhamnolipids in pharmaceutical preparations for oral use increase the permeability of cell membranes, resulting in better absorption of drugs;
Rhamnolipids reduce the level of cytokines (in vivo);
Treatment of conditions associated with obesity. Rhamnolipids affect the level of triglycerides, creatinine, alanine transaminaza, reduces blood sugar levels.
