Product used: yeast vegetable oil condensate with Rhamnolipids.
A multi wing stirring tank with volume of 10000l was mixed with 30/70 of the contaminated sand / soil with water and heated to about 55 ° C, 30 ° C less than normal operating temperature. Approximately 780l oil was contaminated in the sand.
The aim in this experiment was to reach a residual oil content of only about 1%. In comparison
the best result with a polymer was a residual oil content of 1.8% with an oil content of 25% in the
sand / soil mixture.
After the separation process the sand / soil fraction was taken and handed over to an independent laboratory to determine the residual oil
content. In addition, the laboratory also received an untreated sample to determine the actual oil content.
• Untreated : 35.8% oil and fat
• Treated with Rhamnolipids yeast oil condensate: 0.42% oil and fat
